Since 1972, my teaching and research career has been devoted to the study of oncogenic viruses and cancer genes. This includes the discovery of new oncogenes, elucidating their functions, investigating molecular information transmission, and understanding the molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis and cancer metastasis. Currently, my focus extends to the most challenging issues in the field, such as tumor microenvironment, cancer stem cells, cancer recurrence, cancer latency, and the identification of diagnostic and prognostic markers, as well as the development of new drugs. I have specialized experience in research and teaching in the fields of oncogenes and tumor biology.
